But I guess I’ll give you some credit…for like…creating Undertale in the first place. Undertale and professional wrestling…who would’ve though such a thing could exist?! It seems everyone from the original Undertale team worked on the game! Temmie even did some new artwork of people like Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Kota Ibushi, and even NJPW president Harold Meiji in the style of Undertale. Kenny’s Quest tells the tale of the underdog Kenny Omega and his defense of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13…except… Kenny’s Quest kind of depicts Tanahashi as an arrogant villain, which I kind of assume is the opposite of how NJPW wants to present the story, since Kenny is already the champion (and a foreigner), but WHATEVER, it’s still cool! But if he wasn’t a fan then, he’s probably definitely maybe a fan now!Īpparently Toby Fox and NJPW superstar Kenny Omega are super BFFs now, as they’ve put together an official collabo video called “Kenny’s Quest,” which mashes up the aesthetic and music of Undertale with, well, professional wrestling! I always had suspicions that Toby Fox was a wrestling fan, considering the some of the smarky terms used in the game.

The story in DDWC will still retain the visual novel presentation, but you might expect to see future matches in Doki Doki Wrestling Club done in this way! Anyways, back to work on Episode 2 and more… It takes a LOT of time to make these matches look nice, using the clunky in-game scene recording tools, re-recording scenes from different angles to hide the awful-looking transition animations between moves, and manually adding in sound effects, but I think the end product looks pretty nice. It took me about 15 hours to put this 1 match together (plus another 5 hours to make the Dokis in the game!). If you’ve been following my instagram, you might know I’ve been doing a few experiments this week to try and make matches from that game presentable. Some people have asked about using WWE 2K19 for Doki Doki Wrestling Club. Originally DDWC was a test to see how I could incorporate Fire Pro Wrestling World in my videos, since the 2K games have gotten rid of their easy-to-use story designer. The match between Yuri and Natsuki vs The IIconics from Doki Doki Wrestling Club: Episode 1, remade in WWE 2K19!
